Safety warnings for Access Points (In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 of the European Parliament and of the Council on general product safety - GPSR) Important! Access Points (AP) are electronic devices powered by external power supply or PoE technology. Carefully read the warnings below . Improper use, overheating or incorrect power supply PoE can lead to fire, electric shock or damage equipment. 1. General safety and purpose • Electrical hazard (Critical): AP and its power supply operate under voltage. The use of damaged cables or unauthorized power supplies may result in electric shock and fire. This also applies Power over Ethernet (PoE) where incorrect wiring may cause damage. • Proper use: AP is designed to create and expand a wireless computer network. It's not a toy. • Choking risk: Small components (e.g. antennas, caps, elements mounting screws) pose a choking hazard to small children. 2. Safety of use and connection • Power supply (Critical): o Use only the original power supply or certified replacement with exactly the same parameters ($V$, $A$). Using an inappropriate power supply may result in fire or damage to the AP. o If using PoE power, make sure you are using PoE switches/injectors are compliant with standards (e.g. 802.3af/at) and AP power requirements. • Ventilation (Critical): Ensure free air flow around the AP. Do not cover it, do not place it in tight, closed spaces. spaces or on soft surfaces. Overheating is the main cause of failure and fire. • Water and Moisture: Protect the AP and power supply from contact with water, liquids and moisture. APs intended for internal installation should not be installed outdoors. • Mounting: APs intended for ceiling or wall mounting must be securely attached using appropriate elements fastening. The fall of the device threatens injury and damage equipment. • Temperature: Protect your device from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. 3. Maintenance and cleaning • Power disconnection: Always disconnect the AP from mains power or from the PoE source before cleaning. • Cleaning: Clean the case with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners. • Damage control: Do not use an AP that has a cracked housing, damaged ports or cables. 4. Disposal • Electronic waste (WEEE) – Critical: Access Points and their power supplies are electronic waste. Don't throw them away general waste bin. • Recycling: Dispose of the used AP and its power supply at designated collection points for waste electronic equipment (WEEE). • Data Security: Before disposing of the AP, perform a reset to factory reset to delete any saved settings passwords and network configuration.
